The intensified communal strife between Okpobula, Ezza, community in the Apa Ward of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State and Uffiom in neighbouring Ebonyi State has led to the death of ten persons, THE EASTERNER reports.
The two border communities tha have been at dagger drawn over piece of land for more than 20 years just renewed their crisis on Tuesday morning following an alleged encroachment on a disputed piece land by alleged militia from Uffiom, Ebonyi State.
Ten persons were reportedly killed and many others injured.
According to source, the fighting started Tuesday morning and lasted till Wednesday.
But because of the poor terrain and bad road network, security men could not reach the area on time.
The Chairman of Ado LGA, Chief James Oche confirmed the crisis. Senator Abba Moro decried the incessant attacks on the community.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on New Media, Eche-Ofun John, Moro charged security agents to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book.
Police Spokesperson Kate Anene said she was yet to get the report on the crisis .
