Adrienne Walker is a talented actor and vocalist who hails from Jonesboro, GA, a suburb outside of Atlanta. Growing up, she discovered her passion for performing through singing in church and school choirs. This love for the stage prompted her to pursue a career in opera. Education Background

Adrienne earned her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the esteemed Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and continued her studies, obtaining a master’s degree from The Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.Adrienne Walker’s journey into the world of performing arts took a twist after completing her graduate degree. Instead of pursuing opera, she transitioned into musical theatre, marking a significant turning point in her career.

In 2016, Adrienne made a bold move to New York, where she debuted on Broadway as Nala in Disney’s The Lion King. She showcased her versatility by taking a hiatus from The Lion King to play Hattie in the Broadway revival of Kiss Me Kate, alongside Tony-nominated Kelli O’Hara and Corbin Bleu. Throughout her career, she collaborated with notable directors, including Robert Townsend, Kenny Leon, and Scott Ellis, leaving an indelible mark on the Broadway stage.

Acting Career

Adrienne Walker’s acting prowess extends beyond Broadway. In 2023, she graced the TV series “Power Book IV: Force” as Shanti ‘Showstopper’ Page, a fearless and ambitious ex-boxer professional boxer, where she was featured in 10 episodes. She also played the role of ‘Erika Wallace’ in the series “FBI.” Notably, she played herself in “The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal” and took on the role of Vera in the 2023 movie, “I’m Not Gay: A Musical.”


In the theater season of 2013-2014, Adrienne Walker took center stage in the musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel, “The Color Purple,” orchestrated by the creative brilliance of Allee Willis, Stephen Bray, and Brenda Russell. The enchanting performance unfolded at the Mercury Theater in the lively city of Chicago, Illinois, where Walker shared the limelight with the talented Trisha Jeffrey and Jasondra Johnson. Adding an extra layer of visual charm to the production was the impeccable costume design by Frances Maggio

Walker’s magnetic portrayal in “The Color Purple The Musical” didn’t go unnoticed. Her stellar performance earned her a well-deserved nomination for the 2014 Joseph Jefferson Equity Award. The nomination recognized her outstanding contribution as a Supporting Actress in the musical adaptation .

In September of 2020, Adrienne, along with her husband Austin Cook, co-created “32 Bar Cut,” a platform featuring shows like “Broadway Banter,” “The Curtain Call,” and “32 Bar Cut: The Show.” The latter is an interview series delving into the theater industry’s inner workings. This platform has evolved from a simple blog about audition tips to a weekly talk show providing transparent advice and honest stories about Adrienne’s journey in theatre.

Austin Cook is Adrienne Walker’s husband. He is her partner in both life and creativity and they’ve been married since September 12, 2016. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Austin has a rich musical background and has excelled as an actor, music director, and producer.
